Culinary Expertise Chef Omar Sagastume Chef Omar has over twenty years of culinary experience ranging from informal get-togethers to complex commercial gatherings. No matter how large or small the event, Chef Omar consistently brings his impressive culinary talents to the table.
Chef Omar has catered events with notable guests including political figures Governor Mitt Romney, Mayor Menino, Hillary Clinton, Dick Cheney and Governor Jeb Bush. Entertainment professionals such as Mariah Carey, Cher, and the Rolling Stones have also enjoyed Chef Omar’s exquisite culinary creations. Chef Omar has had the opportunity to cultivate his cooking expertise by collaborating with some of the top caterers in the Boston area. He has further enhanced his abilities through his multi-cultural experiences. His pallet includes flavors found in Portuguese, French, Latin, and Middle Eastern cuisine. When asked what sets his cooking apart from that of his peers, Chef Omar says that it is “his passion for food and flavor”. It is apparent in each of his creations that he has taken great care to prepare a meal that will leave you delighted. Chef Omar has recently joined forces with Chef Robert of Cardoos Catering and has great expectations for what the combination of their culinary flair will bring to you and your special occasion.
Chef Robert Cardoos Established in the Summer of 1976, Cardoos Gourmet Caterers opened two gourmet retail stores: one in Dedham, MA and the other in the famous Fanueil Hall Marketplace in Boston. Over the next 5 years, Chef Robert and his brother, Ron, opened 14 other locations throughout New England. Gourmet Foods is synonymous with the Cardoos name. In 1983, the two brothers were instrumental in the design of the Super Stop and Shop Supermarkets. Chef Robert started to cater many events with his culinary talents from intimate house parties to large corporate events. No matter if it is a request from the White House or an “evening with Natalie Cole” at the Wang Center, Chef Robert oversees the creation of all the delectable foods from his kitchen. Chef Robert has appeared many times on television and has been heard on many radio programs. He was the celebrated host of “Talking Foods”, a food talk show in Massachusetts. Weddings are always special to Chef Robert. “This is a special day that a bride has always dreamed about. It is an honor to be able to cater one's dream and make it picture perfect”, says Chef Robert. In the 1990's, Chef Robert decided to open a café with his catering company. His café was specially known for his Sunday Brunch which could seat over 300 guests. This brunch won Best of Boston for 11 consecutive years. Chef Robert also has been the recipient of “ Man of the Year” in 1996 and 2000 for his continuous charity work for the needy. In 2001, Cardoos Gourmet Caterers moved to a state of the art culinary kitchen in North Grafton. This location is off the Mass Pike, making it easy for the Chef and his staff to serve all of New England. |
